I do not speak French, so I am hoping some kind person will translate this for me -- merci!
Back in 1981, while putting together the Guitar Player magazine cover story on Duane Allman, I interviewed many of those closest to him, including Gregg, John Hammond, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, and Dickey Betts. None of these conversations were published as actual interviews, so I've begun to retranscribe and post them to share with guitar lovers everywhere.
Gregg reveals a lot of details about growing up with Duane, their first bands, and the Allman Brothers Band:

In my interview with Dickey, he talks about how Duane's band was originally going to be a power trio, and that in the early days Duane used to just retune his Les Paul onstage to play slide. Later, he got an SG that he kept in open E. Dicky also talks about how they recorded their first four albums, and how he and Duane inspired and influenced each other. Best of all, he unravels the mysteries of who played which guitar solos on the classic Allman Brother albums.
