Merci les gars!
It was a very nice evening. First Sam Walker (who plays drums, percussion, steel drum with me and sings backing vocals) played a set of his own music. Sam is AMAZING - a multi-instrumentalist with a great voice, and beautiful, original songs. Check him out at:
http://www.myspace.com/samwalkers (Listen to the song "Can't Start Me Up" - I
LOVE that tune!)
Jim Mortimore, who plays double bass and bass guitar with me (and has played with people like Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd and even Chuck Berry!) also plays with Sam, and they both played with me, and also with the Boogie Woogie Troop that finished the evening - these guys work hard!
Anyway, I have uploaded some more songs from the concert for those interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MBDc3rOMPk - "Igelkott" (solo Weissenborn).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTom90aDJJA - "Dusk Dawn" (baritone Weissenborn and double bass).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o065YIS6XHk - "Many a Man" (resonator guitar, double bass and cajón). Multi-angle footage!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiE1ruuHLlI - our take on the blues tune "St. James Infirmary" (electric lap steel, bass guitar and drums). Another multi-angle one.
And here's a little segment of "The Jolly Baker of Aachen" - baritone Weissenborn and percussion on the double bass.
