The guitar Noel Boggs is playing belonged to Cliffie Stone. It features a 12 string guitar neck (with a hawaiian nut added and strung with six strings), a six string neck and a mandolin neck.
Cliffie Stone inherited the 3-necked guitar when his foster father Herman the Hermit died.
in the picture, that is Herman (the Hermit} Snider on banjo, Cliffie Stone (Herman's foster son) and on accordian, either Billy Leibert or George Bambi, I think. As for the three necked guitar, It belongs to Herman the Hermit, and part of his one man band paraphinalia. In an old Popular Mechanics they did an article on Herman and his one man band with a picture of him holding it. I still have the clipping from the magazine. Perhaps Herman was the first to have multlple neck regular guitar.
It currently is on display at the Country Music Hall Of Fame And Museum in Nashville, Tennessee.
