Version 1922
I met Jesus at the kenmore
And he said I'm going to heaven
He said that he'd meet me there
After his last round
When the waitress had our last calls
And turned on all the lights
I saw Jesus at the Kenmore, all drunk up last night
Well he wasn't wearing a long robe,
He had tennis on his feet
He's got a little older
and his eyes looked kind of beat
He'd wear one of these ball caps
and on the front it read
I'd rather push my Ford
Than drive a Chevrolet
Well he was getting kind of belligerant
and they try to throw him out
he pulled smoke from behind his ears
and he begin to shout
Says I bring you boys a message
And if there's any doubt
You'd better straigthen up and fly right
or you know I'll take you out
Well we just sat and stare
waiting for his next move
then Jesus just tugged his beer and ordered him a brew
The waitress had our last calls, we all bought him a round
I met Jesus at the kenmore, he almost took us down
