Use a screwdriver to change strings only. To tune the guitar, turn the nut at the end of the tuning lever. The tuner consists of a lever with 3 holes in it. The string goes throuh the small hole in the middle. A sheet metal screw just behind the bridge serves as an adjustable fulcrum, and a machine screw & nut at the other end of the lever serve as an adjustable tensioner. When stringing the guitar, the lever is placed at the top of the sheet metal screw and the string is pulled tight and clamped with a screwdriver at the 'headstock'. Then the lever is engaged in whichever thread in the sheet metal screw that provides for the correct tension/pitch. It's very simple and robust, and stays in tune great! Any other questions - please ask! Thanks, Tex

The longhorns in the photo are Buster(right) and Fleetwood(left). We have more, but these two are the biggest right now, and they are destined to live out on the farm their whole lives - some of the others aren't so lucky, though they do get to visit fine restaurants nationwide. I build my guitars out on the family farm which belongs to my brother-in-law, whose ancestors settled there around 1873. I am a roadie and guitar technician by trade, but I don't tour anymore and these days I spend a lot of time out on the farm with the cows, coyotes, buzzards, eagles, snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, etc. Howdies, Tex
