Vincent – I hope I’ll have time this weekend to record some samples, maybe a youtube clip.
Lionel – yes, Jason said the moustache bridge is inspired by the Gibson J-200. I only got this one – the black/gold one in the “frosted duco” thread is one Jason built for himself.
It’s great to have a modern, reliable electric lap steel with high output and still HUGE and warm neck pickup tone like on my dear 1930s New Yorkers.
Jason's craftsmanship is absolutely top notch and he is a super nice guy. Jerry Douglas plays his lap steels (I think he has at least a couple of Bel Aires and one Rodeo). Jason has posted some pics of other beautiful instruments he has built on the Steel Guitar Forum - I will have a look there and post some here. GAS warning!

Some other beautiful Lap King instruments:
A Rodeo with custom inlay.
Jerry Douglas' Rodeo with two Lollar humbuckers.
8-string semi-hollow Grand Rodeo with Lollar Console Grand pickup.
Western-inspired Rodeo with rope binding and a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup. This was the guitar that made me get in touch with Jason about a 2-pickup version.
Custom Bel Aire with pinstripe paintwork and a Lollar Supro-style pickup.
Firebird-style guitar with a hand-tooled leather pickguard!
A matt finish Korina Rodeo with "frosted duco" finish on the hardware - Lollar Charlie Christian pickup.
